For Michael Fitzsimmons, servicing the community has always been a priority. Throughout his career, Michael has held leadership roles in politics, government relations and public policy, as well as providing inspiration as a pastor. Through those different experiences, Michael learned quickly how important it is for nonprofits to succeed. They are an invaluable assistance to the community. Michael started Fitzsimmons Strategic Consulting to provide the nonprofit sector with an effective partner to help them get on and stay on a successful path.
A diversified career has given Michael the essential foundation to help nonprofits put the right team in place and secure the resources they need to bring their organization to the next level, execute their mission and achieve their goals. He has become a sought-after, valued advisor and partner to many nonprofits.
In addition to leading Fitzsimmons Strategic Consulting, Michael serves as a City of Greeley Ward III Councilmember. He strives to be a positive voice and advocate on issues that are important to the lives of Greeley residents.
Michael graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.A., followed by a Masters in Judicial Administration from the University of Denver Law School, and then went on to graduate with a Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA, and a Doctorate in Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA, and the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He recently received his certification in Fund Raising Management from the Lilly Family School Of Philanthropy, Indiana University’s Fund Raising School and his CFRE (Certified Fund-Raising Executive) designation.
Married for 35 years to Peggy, Mike has lived in the Greeley and surrounding community for the better part of 40 years.
